ASK AN INFLUENCER: LINDY GOODSON

Hey Everyone!

I am so so excited for the start of this series! I started getting in a rut as we were approaching the new month because obviously I am going to be posting about fall trends and the "adapted" fashion week shenanigans, but I wanted to do more than just that. So, I started thinking about what type of content I like to see and what stuff I appreciate some of my favorite bloggers, influencers, and YouTubers doing AND IT HIT ME. Why not interview the very "content creators" I admire most?!? So "Ask an Influncer" was born. I have reached out to a multitude of influncers with different strengths and types of followings to try and diversify each feature!

I am freakin stoked to be kicking off this series with Lindy Goodson. Lindy has a very special place in my heart because I relate to her the most out of anyone I follow (-mostly because we have so much in common). She recently graduated from The University of Mississippi, Ole Miss, where she studied Integrated Marketing Communications. She was also involved in Phi Mu (the same sorority I was in at USC) and has co-founded a small business called Fraze where she customizes and decorates sunglasses for whatever events you have coming up! Lindy has a YouTube channel where she shows off her personal styling, days in her life, and how she edits her pictures for her Instagram page. She has videos on her channel where she explains how to be the most successful as an aspiring content creator by going through the Instagram Algorithm and growing your personal brand. I look up to Lindy for a lot of reasons and admire her unfiltered personality. She is a refreshing face in the "content creator" world and I am so excited to have had the opportunity to interview her! I hope you enjoy this series and I promise to link all of her socials at the bottom of this post so you can follow her yourself!

Sara Anne:  When did you first get into fashion and social media editing?

Lindy Goodson: I have loved taking outfit photos and documenting styles I love since 9th grade! I didn't start getting into editing though until college, maybe around sophomore year and I really loved the creative outlet so it has kind of stuck with me!

SA: How would you describe your current style?

LG: I would describe my current style as girly, eclectic, and colorful! I go a lot of different directions just depending on how I feel, but I feel like there is a  common girly/ eclectic theme always!

SA: Who are your style inspirations?

LG: I follow a ton of bloggers and influencers on Instagram and always look to Pinterest for inspiration and have found some of my favorite gals. I love Matilda Djerf, Delaney Childs, and I have recently discovered Marianne Theodorsen and her outfits are so fun!!

SA: What has been your favorite brand to work with? Why?

LG: Probably Bud Seltzer! I am still in the middle of a collaboration with them that lasts a few month longer, but they have allowed me a lot of creative freedom, and I just love their seltzers hahaha. I love when brands let me use my most authentic voice and ideas because it shows me that they respect me and trust that I know what my audience responds best to!

SA: What is your favorite social media platform you post on?

LG: Instagram, probably! I will say though, TikTok is catching up! I love TikTok and have spent so much time on it over the past few months and have seen such crazy growth thanks to it!

SA: What are your short term and long term goals as a creator?

LG: Short term, my goal is always just to build a strong community of friends online! I try everyday to get through as many DMs as I can and offer genuine advice or help to my followers because that is what is most important. Long term, I hope to grow my YouTube channel a lot more and make it more of a main platform for me!

SA: What is one piece of advice you have for aspiring content creators?

LG: Don;t be afraid to start!!! It is hard to take yourself seriously or get over the fear that other people won't take you seriously. Recently I was thinking to myself, "I want to be a full time creator so badly" and then I realized I have no other job, and all I do currently is work at creating online- so I am a full-time creator! I realized that if you want to do it, and you start posting content you enjoy and that makes you happy, it doesn't matter how many followers you have because you're doing it! Everyone starts at 0 and the industry is only getting bigger- there is enough sunshine for everyone!
