The "cardigan"- falling in the genre of sweaters, but making its mark with the option to leave it open or shut. A 2007 preppy girl's staple has now turn into a trendy, modern girl's finishing fabric. Today I will be talking about how the classic cardigan has been revamped and having one of the strongest comebacks in textile history and show you all where you can find one of your own. I am very familiar with the cardigan, as I was the 2007 preppy girl mentioned previously. I would rock my Abercrombie & Fitch cardigan to elementary and middle school like it was my job, but as I have evolved over time, so has the cardigan. There are two different main routes that the cardigan has evolved into: the soft florals and the funky retro. Just as a disclaimer, the beauty of fashion is that it can be taken into what ever direction a person desire's, this is just my take on it!

Soft Florals
This person is bubbly, girl next door, wears pastels and floral all year round. They love having their hair in a clip and is always down to get a latte at your local coffee shop. You can see a lot of examples of outfits this person would wear with a cardigan overtop in the graphic above. Lots of pastels and picking out one solid color to match the pattern on their dress or top. As for shoes, an easy white sneaker or booties will do just the trick. Funky Retro
This person is up on the latest trends and knows how to add her own spin on things. A regular matcha or kombucha drinker, they are everyone's go-to for fashion advice. Their style has no commitment to anything. They are always down to mix patterns, cuts, and colors and you can see this in the cardigans they pick. A lot of times they'll go bold and wear a cardigan half open with nothing underneath to leave some mystery or they'll pair a cardigan with either their wide legged jeans or tennis skirts and loafers.
