April Favorites

Hey Guys!

Yes, I have taken a break from the Tok to come over to the blog side. I actually planned out my May content for all of three platforms ( Insta, Blog, Tik Tok), so buckle up because I am really trying out this content creator life while balancing my full time job with Michael Kors! April has been nothing short of an adventure, filled with exploring, beautiful flowers, and becoming more of the person I have always wanted to be! Today I will be showing you guys my favorite things of the month that have made it so great! I can't lie, I am SO PSYCHED for May, but I am still very happy with how April went! So lets get into it!!

Listening

Girls Gotta Eat Podcast!!! I know I have definitely talked about this podcast before, but truly, I have been listening to all of their episodes this past month and it is so interesting! Yes, it is a sex and dating podcast, but it is very much relationship focused and they bring in guests that talk about things like boundaries, social media, anxiety, and so much more! They are funny and relatable and make my morning walks fun!

The Taylor Swift Fearless Album set me back to when I was in the 5th grade and listened to her music off of a CD in the car on the way to my dance classes. I am so happy she released Fearless because it is like rediscovering Taylor all over again and reliving the songs of my childhood. Personally, Forever and Always and Mr. Perfectly Fine are my two top favs. Also, can someone please confirm that Woodvale is real?!?

One thing I have learned about myself is music helps me focus on work that needs to get done. Basically it satisfies a part of my brain and distracts me enough to zone in (which I know does not make sense). For a long time Kacey Musgraves was my go to girl and honestly, still is, however, I have recently rediscovered Bad Suns. A funny story about Bad Suns is that I first found them junior year of college because they were the entertainment at one of my sorority functions. I was obsessed with them ever since. The Bad Suns Radio on Spotify has been my go-to all month- good thing my roommate doesn't work at home with me because it is literally the same playlist every day, but every song is still a bop no matter how many times I hear it!

Wearing

I have been trying really hard to explore new sides of my style. I want to become even more colorful than I already am! Life is too short to be scared about what to wear. I have been loving the color green and bright pink and orange. Some of my favorites have come from Zara and Nordstrom Rack! I tag everything on my Insta, so be sure to follow there for all of the details!!

Two words. SET. ACTIVE. I have been turned to brand and I am obsessed. I got a promo code from a Clubhouse talk and ordered the cutest brown set. In general it is a little expensive, but when I was comparing it, it was almost the same price as Lululemon, so I didn't feel as bad for my wallet! There is just something about wearing a matching workout set that makes me feel one step closer to having my life together!

I credit this next one to TikTok- the chunky colorful rings! Earlier this month I went to a store called Here Nor There and they were selling the viral rings for only $15! I was shook by the price- even though you could definitely find them for cheaper probably. I was so excited and honestly I wear them all the time whether they match my outfit or not because they are just so cute and make me smile every time I look at them!

Beauty

I have been looking for new face masks that won't tear up my skin and I found one thanks to the rec of Margot Lee- the Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Face Mask. It is specifically for redness and correcting dark spots and the things I love most about this product is how it it a part of Sephora's "Clean Skin Care Options". This means that there are less outrageous chemicals in the skin care product you use and it lists out all of the ingredients, so you can read it for yourself. I have been trying to switch over to using clean skin care and I have noticed such an improvement in my face!

Next up is Body Wash which I never would expect to become a favorite but has created the perfect addition to my shower set up. The Necessaire Eucalyptus Body Wash is a daily multi- vitamin cleanser for skin health. I have seen this body wash all over influencer's social media and I wanted to see if it was worth the hype and trust me- it just is. It definitely has cleared up my chest and back areas and makes the shower feel like a spa with it's Eucalyptus fragrances! Another great things about it: it is also vegan and a part of the Sephora Clean Skin Care Section!

My last favorite for the month is a little more on the expensive side. Chanel Perfume. When I was about to leave for college, my mom gave me a travel bottle of her "signature scent": Chanel's Chance. I have gotten refills every year since and now that I am out of college, it was time for me to buy my own. I bought a full bottle this time- the best part is that it will last me for at least a year! Every time I spritz it at the beginning of my days, I always feel like home. There is something so glamorous about having a signature scent and my mother has passed hers down to me. Plus, what's more glamorous than Chanel??

Doing

Since moving to NY my roommate introduced me to the show, Super Store which originally aired on NBC but we are watching it on Hulu and it is hilarious. All of the characters are so funny and the things that happen in the store are absolutely wild. There are also a lot of subplots, so you get to know more about all of the characters rather than just constantly following the leads!

A major key to keeping myself on track financially, is BUDGETING. Even, just tracking my spending has been really eye opening for me because being fully on my own is expensive. If there are things that I can cut down, sometimes I have to. I literally just use a template on the numbers app on my computer. I make my projections at the beginning of the month and type in all of my transactions- except cash, I still feel like anything I pay with cash is free. This is why I am not in finance.

This last one is kind of a given, but exploring the city is a clear pastime of mine. New York is one of the only places where I can be fully alone and truly take in my surroundings. I have always been so overwhelmed with energy and characters found in the city. I love taking long walks home after a meal with friends- it is a great way to help digest food and I am always less stressed on my way home from something than to something. There is always so much to see and walking around helps connect the dots between each famous landmark!

Stay UNIQUE,
Sara Anne
