Top Ten Things That Made Me Smile

Hey Friends!!

Another week in the books and the month is already kickin! Time has been so weird recently where the days are long and short at the same time- same with weeks, but nonetheless I have been really trying to stay in the moment! Today I am going to be talking about the top ten things that made me smile and I encourage you guys to start doing the same thing! Practicing gratitude has allowed me to take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way and appreciate the process of life. Anyways, lets get into it !!

Enjoy!!

1. Being FULLY mother freakin vaccinated!!

As you are reading this I am on my way to get my second shot of the Covid Vaccine! I am so happy for life to come back to normal and just feel a tad less anxious about the world around me. My first dose, I left the Urgent Care almost in tears because I can't help but reflect on my life a year ago versus my life now! Covid was a very dark time for me, as it was for a lot of people, but I also did a lot of work to improve myself and I am seeing it all come together. This vaccine is just the icing on the cake! #SHOTGIRLSUMMER

2. Helping My Friends Find their Style

I love styling clothes for me, for my friends, anyone! When I was in high school I was in charge of dressing everyone for our family Christmas card lol. Recently, my best friend asked me to help her find some new clothes for the summer and I was so excited I literally made a whole slide show presentation with a mood board, screen shots, and links! If anyone needs help with putting outfits together, hit ya girl up!!

3. Ice Rolling My Face in the Mornings

Y'all- THE BIGGEST GAME CHANGER. I have a jade roller and honestly I don't even know if it is real, but I recently got a ice roller off of amazon and it is the best way to kiss your morning puffiness goodbye. My new favorite things is putting on my gel eye patches and rolling them on with the Ice Roller. It also helps wake you up faster because it really shocks your system. Already the first week of May, but I think this might make it into my May favorites at the end of the month!

4. Real Housewives of NY Premier

When I was younger I used to be way more into RHONY, but since I am here I am so excited to start watching it again. I am not worried about catching up on all of the drama because they ALWAYS show flash backs and I do know a lot of the foundation stuff! Also, now I have another reason to listen to The Morning Toast since they always do recaps!!

5. Dressing Up to Work from Home

I have noticed this week that when I wear an actual outfit (vs staying in my pjs all day), I have been way more productive. Exhibit A: I have posted on this blog three time this week! I feel so much more motivated to do things and to get my work done and it truly is little changes that make a big difference! Also I actually like the clothes in my closet, so why not wear them? I can look cute for myself and that is enough!

6. Big Bootie Mix 19

I loved the Big Bootie Mixes in college and honestly they are the best tracks to run to! This week they released their 19th mix and it always blows my mind how they think about all of song that go into that hour long track. It was perfect to work to this week because I didn't have to worry about any skips. I will say 16 is definitely my favorite! I think I am going to try and run on Sunday (assuming I am still alive from my vax)!

7. A Lighter Workload Week

This week working from home was a lot more chill because we are in between markets! I honestly love this down time between seasons because I can actually do things like washing dishes, do laundry, or take a work break to go on a walk. Basically I like actually having work- life balance!  It is crazy how work from home was something people hated for so long, but now that I am going back to the office periodically, I LOVE IT! I don't have to worry about putting on my make up in the morning because my camera is always off and don't have to wear a mask all day because I am in the comfort of my own home!

8. Facetime Calls with Friends

This week I have been calling a lot of my best friends which is always nice to do. It is hard having long distance friendships- especially when you have graduated college and are starting your own lives, but that is why communication is so important! Each week differs but texting, phone calls, sending TikToks, even letter writing truly makes it all easier to be in each others lives even from a couple hundred miles.

9. Starting Becoming by Michelle Obama

I finished one of my books last week and remembered that I had received the Michelle Obama book for Christmas. I started reading it this week and I absolutely love it! I can almost hear Michelle Obama in the words on the page. It is so interesting learning about her family background and her childhood, and how those things have impacted the person she has become today! Obviously I am still in the beginning so there is definitely more to learn but I wouldn't be surprised if I finish the book next week!

10. The Fact that I am Going to Columbia in a Week!!!

Yes- that is right, I am going back to Colatown in a week and I am so excited. I am going back for my college graduation ceremony (as a talked about in my most recent post), but I most excited to eat at my favorite restaurants! I have a whole food itinerary set up! I am going to get my nails done next week and might even check my bag when I get to the airport because why not?!

Stay UNIQUE,
