The Meaning Behind the Color Combo of Love

One of the reason's why I love Valentine's Day and the month of February is because it is home to my favorite color combo- Red and Pink. Growing up I was always the pink girly and it has only manifested into a major part of my lifestyle inviting red to compliment it perfectly. I was wondering why do I feel so powerful and confident in these colors? Obviously you feel the most confident in what you love, but color psychology is such a cool and powerful thing that I wanted to dive deeper into, so today I will be breaking down the true meaning behind the best color combination of all time!

Red. The color of stop signs, red carpets, and coca cola cans.

Red can be an intimidating color to most but that is what makes it so attractive. Red is a color best used for passion, power, and love! It is a primary color so it is the base of any form of expression- kinda like a blank canvas in a funny way. A lot of brands use red in logos or signage because it is widely recognizable and respected. A lot of guys think red dresses are sexy and sophisticated. Red attracts people and invites them in to a find out what is going to happen next. It is a call to action. It energizes. It stands out. It is comfort with a touch of mystery.

Pink. The color of ballet shoes, cotton candy, and flamingos.

Pink is a naturally sweet color. It is flirty and feminine. Pink is most commonly seen to show playfulness, charm, and beauty. It is a lighter shade of red, so it has the appeal without the risk. Pink is approachable and brightens someone's mood. Since it can be used in many different ways, it is unpredictable and unorthodox. Brands use pink to highlight the fun in their products like Barbie or Cosmopolitan magazine. For so long pink was viewed as unprofessional or embarrassing, but I view pink as embracing joy and delight. Pink is unexpected and makes people more spontaneous. It is corny. It is charming. It is child-like.

Pink and Red. The color of Hallmark cards, flowers, and 75% of my wardrobe.

Pink and Red makes things pop and feel fresh. Originally used together in the evolution of technicolor entertainment, this color combination makes things feel new and cared for. It shows intention, intimacy, and interest. Many designers often use these colors together in their creations because it feels organic, there is not one without the other. Of course these colors showcase love in its purest form, but is also shows grace, style, and expression. People who wear these colors together give off a sense of fearlessness, a want to be seen by others, and a desire to be their truest self.

There is so much beauty that comes out of all colors and all colors can be used in so many ways, but these two colors mean a lot to me and it is only right that I make them a part of my style!
