Winter Trends You Should Know About Before It's Too Late

Hey Friends!

In addition to my gift guide post, I wanted to do a more fashion-based post for the holiday season. Today I will be talking about some winter trends you guys need to know about if you don't already! These range from modernizing the classics to going outside of traditional expectations. Although this holiday season will look a lot more different compared to years past, the world of fashion never sleeps. And who says you can't look amazing going to the grocery store? Sometimes that is the most exciting thing happening that day! I have done some research and round up my top favorite trends to inform you all on! The winter season is just getting started so you will have ample time to invest in your pieces and rock these looks!

Enjoy!!

Pops of Puffers

Puffers? In winter? Groundbreaking! But actually, this trend is not only practical, but posh. With a new take to the seasons' necessity these puffers come with all the newest bells and whistles. Added embellishments ranging from cinched waists, deep set pockets, and asymmetrical zippers give the corner store classic coat a sprinkle of style. Who said basics had to be boring??

Tailored Velvet

Velvet has been a texture that has become a staple in the fashion industry and this year especially, velvet has had a serious comeback in various ways. However, today I will be talking about the "tailored side" of velvet. This winter, designers have brought one of my favorite fabrics to the forefront of fashion. Whether it be blazers or trousers, even blouses, velvet is transitioning into the professional scope and is there to help you experiment with your personal style. Why not give it a try?

Winter Whites

Another trend that feels like you're stating the obvious, but every "traditional" trend has a new spin ever year it is relevant. With everyone's prior knowledge of the seasonal acceptance to the Memorial Day rule, you are able to add your spin on it. Whether it is pants, sweaters, boots, coats. The world is your oyster with this trend so fish out your whites and try it out!

Knit Sets

This is one of my favorite trends so far because it is my ideal combo of chic and and comfortable. These knit sets items come in sweat sets consisting of a top and a skirt or just the classic sweater dress. It's been wildly cold in Virginia and this trends has come to save me! It also offers a monochromatic look that can finished off with a trench coat and your choice of sneakers or stilettos.

Houndstooth and Plaid and Sparkles Oh My

The winter of prints is upon us. I personally love prints because I feel that you can truly get someone's sense of style when they play around with prints. The most consistent prints I have seen is houndstooth, which just reminds me of my old preppy days, plaid- whether it be wide like windowpane or narrow like a checker, and of course sparkles both big and small. Don't be afraid to put some of these together or dip your toe in with one at a time! Prints makes the fashion industry what it is so go crazy (it not like we have anyone to impress in quarantine).
