TRENDS ARE CYCLICAL!!
Every one knows the term: history repeats itself- the same is true for fashion. We have seen this in so many ways through time. Tracking permanent or fleeting trends can be tricky because things leave and then come back a couple decades down the road. I try to hold onto a couple pieces from my old wardrobe waiting for it to come back. Today I am going to give you some examples of trends today that stemmed from years prior and how to get them for richer or for poorer.

60's
Sequins
Inspired by The Supremes, sequins were there to make people stand and out and that is exactly what this music group did. Sequins are still used today for an extra pop in clothes.
Off- The -Shoulder Tops
A scandalous trend at the time has become a staple in the summertime today.
70's
Scarves
Probably my favorite accessory to any outfit. Scarves are one of the most versatile items stretching from "babushka" head wrap to the DIY tube tops.
Knee High Boots
A little different than the over the knee boots, these are more "season fluid". These are one of the main boot silhouettes and are rivaling the ankle booties day by day.
80's
Puff Sleeves
This is as 80's as it gets and is one of my favorite returning trends for the summer. Whether it is in your dresses, tops, or sweaters, I am obsessed. The puffed sleeves add a dash of excitement and attitude to every outfit.
Biker Shorts
A trend I refused to give into until quite literally last week. It may be one of the most polarizing trends from the 80's. Why did I choose them you may ask? Well I got over the over sized t shirt/ no pants looking look. I liked how people were wearing big graphic tees with them and wanted to try them out. I got two $15 pairs from Amazon for a low risk trial and was happily surprised. I am still not 100% on board but they aren't bad.
90's
Graphic Tees
To be honest did this ever really go out of style?? It may have originated from the 90's but I feel that whether it is an old concert or a silly pun, we all have worn a "graphic tee" of some sort.
Baguette Bags
Small bags are all the rage. No more clumpy totes. We are all minimalists now. I will say this is another one of those polarizing trends that are returning. Personally, I am neutral to it. I am not out rushing to get one, but I appreciate the style inspo that comes with it.
00's
Jean on Jean
Not necessarily Brittney Spears and Justin Timberlake type of jean on jean, but mixing washes. We are in a time of such experimentation that it doesn't matter how you match what you wear. Might as well push some of the societal expectations.
Tiered Skirts
Now if these were styled the same way they were in the 2000's, I would say now, however, these skirts are a huge selling point for brands such as LoveShackFancy, and other designers. Don't knock them until you try them
Obviously there are so many more trends coming from these influence years, those are just my favorites. Whether you want the style of the starts or you are balling on a budget, you can still rock these items and reinvent them!
